Seasonal Scents: Three Fragrances I’ve Been Living In All Summer Long

If you couldn’t tell, I feel my very best by living seasonally. There’s a quote by Thoreau that reads,

“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”

Fragrances are no exception, especially in summer - when time is meant to be spent sunbathing by the water, or dining al fresco that turns into tripping the light fantastic on those dreamy, warm evenings.

I believe fragrances should accompany you like your closest friend, which we are all are (or should be) very selective about. Here are my three favorites that I won’t leave home without spritzing for the rest of the season:

(Also, none of these are sponsored - just sharing my genuine love for these products!)

Poppy and Barley by Jo Malone

Upon smelling this cologne for the first time, it invoked something in me that I can only describe as happiness. Warm, lightly floral, and slightly sweet, it reminds me of a meadow picnic at dusk: gentle, wafting air barely kissed by the sun. I wear this religiously in the daytime, particularly with a gingham shirt, white shorts and vintage espadrilles.

Dior Homme Cologne

If you’re longing to smell like a rich, linen-wearing Sicilian, this is the one. It’s fresh, citrusy, musky and slightly masculine, without being overpowering. It’s perfect to bring along in your tote to the beach, or spray vigorously before a rooftop occasion.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Shimmering Oil

Perhaps I saved the best for last, as this product is not only body and hair oil, but also a fragrance that perfumes the skin so beautifully and delicately. Noted with orange blossom, magnolia and vanilla, this creamy scent pairs wonderfully with its luxurious texture and light shimmer. There’s simply nothing better than adorning your body with this after a shower, and before an evening under the stars that you’ll glow right along with.

All of these fragrances now hold a special place in my heart. I know when I breathe them in, months, even years from now, the joyous, innocent memories of the summer will fill my heart. I encourage you to give them a try and create delicious moments that make up your signature summer.

Love always,

Jacob
